Welcome to the Room 42 Book Blog. This is our interactive reading project that the students of the fifth grade at Manor Hill will be working on throughout the 2007-2008 school year. This blog is not, however, intended for just students. Click on the link at the right “more information” to find out all of the details about this project. Happy Reading!

Hey Anthony I've read Summer of the sea serfant it is a really great book. I don't remember what happened in the book because I read it last year in fourth grade. I think you should read Rifles for Watie. It is such a great book. It is about the World War one. I think it is a good book so I think you should read it after me. It's in our Manor Hill library. Not right now. It's with me.

Feiffer, Jules.A Room with a Zoo. New York: Jules Feiffer, 2005
Summary: This book is about a girl named Julie and she loves animals. She wants a dog but she isn’t old enough to have a dog. So she gets a cat. She names it Timmy. The first week it didn’t do any thing. So then she gets a hamster so she can play with it. Because Timmy won’t do anything. Then Timmy starts to come out. So she wants Timmy and her hamster to be friends. Because she has seen a lot of dogs and cats be friends. So she thought they could be friends. So one day her and her friends and she take Timmy and her hamster to meet in the bathtub. She said that that could be there new meeting club. Do they become friends or not you half to read this book to find out? Plus does she ever get a dog?
I don’t like this book because having a zoo in your room. That would be a lot of animals.
I like this book because I like cats and hamsters’ really like cats I have 3 cats.

Anthony- I love cats, so I would probably like A Room With A Zoo. I have a cat named Goldie, and her nickname is "kit-kat." Anyway, I'm currently reading Each Little Bird That Sings. Comfort Snowberger lives in a funeral home and she is used to death, but then two of her most beloved family members die. I think this book is very sad!-Brittany HOF'07
