Other Students

This section of the Room 42 Reading Blog is just for students. If you consider yourself a “student,” this is the section for you to share information with us about books that you are reading. Don’t worry if you are not a fifth grader, that is okay. Go ahead and share with us what books you are reading and what you think about them.

Hi Room 42!
This is Kate W. I was in Mr. Kelsey's class last year. I'm currently going to school at South Valley Middle School. It's really pretty fun. I have so much more freedom than I did at Manor Hill. I just finished reading Project Mulberry. It was a really good book. For thoose of you who don't know, it's on the Mark Twain list for the 07-08 school year. It's about a Korean girl named Julia who lives in the US. Her and her friend are involved in a club called the Wiggle club. It's a club where you do projects and other fun stuff. Julia recently joined the club and they've got to catch up fast. Everyone else has already been working on their projects for a couple months now so Julia and her friend have to hurry and choose a topic so they can catch up. Julia's mom gives them the idea to do a project on silkworms. The plan is to raise silkworkms and use their silk to make something. Julia doesn't like the idea at first so she tries to make everything harder than it really is. Since the silkworms have to eat Mulberry leaves, Julia tries her worst to find someone with a Mulberry tree. Then when that doesn't work, she tries to figure out a way that she can keep from buying the silkworms. Will Julia's plan ever work. Find out by reading Project Mulberry.

Hi room 42!
Ok i wasnt in Mr.kelsey's class last year but I was in Mr.E's class. This is Courtney O,I go to South Valley Middle School. I read a really good book it is called "The Good Dog". To tell you the truth i thought it would be boring but no it's not. I thought it would be about a guy who gets trapped up in the mountians under the snow, then a dog comes and saves him. But it is really about a dog named Mckinley, he is the head dog of the dog pack. There is another dog named Redburn and he wants to be head so they fight but Mckinley stays head. Ok enough with the boring stuff. Mckinley was once afaid of wolves but now he isn't because he has to help one. Her name is Lupin and she is against all humans (she doesn't like them). She gets shot and almost dies but Mckinley saves her (by the way she hates dog food or anything to do with humans) So Mckinley was a bad dog and stole raw meat from the counter of the table. And brought it back to Lupin, Lupin ate it and after a few days she felt better and went to her home town. After everything...(Remember Redburn) well Redburn sets up a dog meeting because he thinks hes is head dog.(he's really not he just thinks that) Knowing Mckinley he got angry and made everybody turn on Redburn. Ok I know that sounds mean but Redburn almost let this guy kill Mckinley and the wolf Lupin. But after all i think it's a good book. It has 245 pages i think (im not sure) It's fiction, I think any of you whose interested should read it. Ill be commenting alot (trust me)

Hello again,
It’s me Breauna! I just want to let you know I’ve just read another book that was so good. I want to tell you about it.
It’s called “Shiloh.” A young boy is risking himself going to jail just for a dog. This dog is not being treated the way it should be; nicely fed and not whipped. Shiloh really enjoys him and wants to be with him instead of his real owner. Poor thing! Will Shiloh be with him? Will the boy go to jail? These questions can be found out by reading the book.
I have to go,
Breauna

Hi, Room 42!
I am Shelby Blum. I was in Mr.Kelsey's class last year. I am currently going to South Valley Middle School. It is fun.
I just finished a book called Jack's Run. It is a great book. I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes action stories. This book is the sequel to Zach's Lie. Zach's Lie is about a family who gets put into the Witness Security Program. The kids' dad was in a drug cartel and got caught. Zach's sister is making a lot of friends and Zach is the quiet kid until he meets Cat, then everybody knows him, it is because of the three Es in Elko. Sam, the strang custodian in his school, and maybe one of his best friends, keeps him from geeting in trouble. Everything is going smoothe until...
