Justin G.

Hi, my name is Justin and I would like to talk to you about my favorite kind of books. My favorite kind of books are action books, I like action books because they leave you completely at the edge of your seat. The kind of books I don’t like are love stories, I do not like reading love stories because they leave you right in the middle of your seat because there boring.

My favorite book of all time is Abduction. That’s my favorite book because there is like non-stop action in there. I also like this book because there is a boy and he doesn’t know he is being abducted, and the and the boys sister is looking for him.

My reading goal is to at least one year read every single Mark Twain award book. Another one is to them as fast as possible like in a week or something.

Hey Justin! I think you should read Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince because J .K. Rowling has put so much detail in this book that it isn’t funny. Since she has written Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows I am really anxious to finish my book and read the last book. Hopefully you will read a lot of books. Happy Reading!

Wow Justin I also think that Cryptid Hunters is also a great book to read by Roland Smith. I think that if you like Cryptid Hunters then you will love Elephant Run. It is about a boy named Nick Freestone who lives with his mom in London until bombs blow up their house and then he goes to live with his father. After that there are a lot of exciting things that go on. So read the book to find it out!!

Roirdan, Rick. Lightning Thief. New York: Hyperion books for children, 2005.

Genre: Fantasy Fiction. This book is fantasy fiction because there is a lot of creatures like hellhounds and Minotaur’s and lots of other creatures.
This book is about a boy named Percy and he is Poseidon’s son. When I kept reading He played capture the flag and he fought really well and Now he is offered a quest. When his instructor told him to go to the attic this weird dead thing said ,“ He would fail to save his love, his friend would betray him, and to go to the under world. I’ll keep reading for my next post.

The part I really liked in this book is when Percy Killed the Minotaur
Another part I really liked is when the author described the Minotaur that is was like a really big bull.

Roirdan, Rick. Lightning Thief. New York: Hyperion for kids, 2005

Genre: Fantasy fiction. This book is fantasy fiction because There is lots of creatures like hellhounds and Minotaur’s and other creatures.

This book is about a boy named Percy and he is a god, Poseidon’s son. And he is offered a quest because the Master bolt from Zeus has been stolen and he is sent to go get it in the under world. He wonders why Zeus and Poseidon get it. And his instructor tells him those kind of gods can’t go to the under world. But his instructor tells him there is lots of creatures down there so he gives him a sword.

My favorite part is when Percy is playing capture the flag and he slams a guy in the head with his shield and whacks another gut in the head with the butt of the sword.
Another part I like is when the author said “Then he wacked another guy in the head with the butt of his sword.”

Riordan, Rick. Lightning Thief. New York: Hyperion Books for Children,2005.

Genre= The Genre in my book is Fantasy fiction because there is monsters and creatures and gods and a lot of other fantasy things!

This book is about a boy named Percy Jackson and he is Poseidon’s son. Zeus is a god who is great enemies with Poseidon. Zeus thinks Poseidon has stolen the master bolt and Percy has to get it back from Hades because they Know he stole it. Did I also mention they have to get it back by the summer solstice which is tomorrow. I hope I encouraged you in reading Lighting theif!

One thing I like about this book is the author uses very describing words like beautiful and Success.
One thing I do not like about this book is that the author uses words that I don’t understand like Lithe.

Riordan, Rick. Lightning Thief. New York: Hyperion for Kids, 2005.

Genre= This book is fantasy Fiction because There is Hellhounds, gods, and minitours… and this 10 foot tall tree headed dog!

This book is about a kid who has to go on a quest for his dad, Poseidon and get the master bolt back for Zeus. When he has to go to the Under world and… pretty much talk Hades into to giving it back, which will be really, really hard considering he’s the Lord of the dead! I hope I Convinced you to read this book.

My favorite part of the book is when Percy is entering the Under world to get the mase bolt back from Hades.

My second favorite part is when the 10 foot tall a three headed dog is playing fetch With Anabeth.

Hey Justin, I think you really did convinced me to read Lightning Theif! The way you describe how the kid has to get Zeus's bolt back from the Lord of death sounds really interesting. The fact that the kid has to try to get the bolt back from the lord of death kind creeps me out! Although, I love books that creep me out! I really want to see how this turns out!!! Well, gotta go read! Bye!

Roirdan, Rick. The Sea of Monsters. New York: Hyperion books for Children, 2006.

Genre: The Genre for this book is fantasy fiction because there is flying horses and there are Cyclops and sea monsters and a whole bunch of monsters in it.

This an amazing, adventurous, and exiting book about a boy named Percy Jackson and he is a half-blood. A half-blood is someone who is half human and half god, which means they are the son of a god. Percy is the son of Poseidon and Poseidon is one of the big three gods. What’s happening in the story so far is Thalia the tree of Zeus and that tree is the tree that protects all the half bloods from being attacked by monsters. Well something has poisoned that tree and you know what that means… monsters can get in there at any time. What’s happening right now is Percy and Tyson, the Cyclops are about to go in a carriage race with tons of other people. Also Percy is having these really weird dreams about Grover and he is getting chased by these HUGE monsters. I’ll read on and find out what happens next.

My favorite part is when Percy and Tyson are in gym class and they are playing dodge ball and all of a sudden three of the kids form into giant monsters and Tyson started beating those up.
Another part that I really liked is when Tyson started punching the robotic bull that was attacking camp half-blood in the face and saying “ BAD COW!!!” WAM! WAM! WAM!

Roirdan, Rick. The Sea of Mosters. New York: Hyperion for Children,2006.
By:Justin
Genre: Fantasy Fiction. It is fantasy fiction because there is monsters and creatures and talking goats, and anything that you think is weird or unreal or magical, it will probably be In that strange, strange book.

This very exiting book is about a boy who is the son of the sea god. Where the only place he can be safe from monster, which is monster proof basically is being destroyed by monsters, which is not monster proof any more. The reason it is not monster proof any more is because that the tree of thalia has been poisoned. Also his good friend Grover is on a quest to get the golden fleece. The fleece is the only thing that could save thalia’s tree. Percy keeps having dreams that Grover is in trouble, and he knows that is a sign that he is in trouble. Anabeth/Percy’s friend and Percy are going on a quest to save Grover, but there is one catch… Percy’s arch enemy is going with him to The Sea of Monsters. I’ll keep reading to type my next post. BY!!!!

My favorite part about this book is when Prcy finds out that his arch enemy has to go with him for his quest.

My second favorite part is when percy gets stabbed is the back by an evil piegon.

Riordan, Rick. The Sea of Monsters. New York: Hyperion for Kids, 2006.
-Justin
Genre: The genre for this book is fantasy fiction because it has Cyclops and monsters and a and a fleece that heels anything.

This exiting, adventures, Mythic book is about a boy who is the son of Poseidon. When I was reading Percy and his brother Tyson and his friend Annabeth go into The Sea of Monsters they almost get sucked right into this mouth of this sea monster type of thing. When the ship is going way to fast and the engine is burning up and Tyson knows he can fix… I know that sounds pretty hot but to a Cyclops, it’s not so hot! But when Tyson tries to fix it and he doesn’t fix it in time the whole ship basically explodes. They have just found Tyson and have found the golden fleece to heel the thalies tree. They are back at camp half blood and have heeled thalies tree. They are right now about to go on a chariot race, and if you did not know Poseidon makes horses so it is very easy for Percy to control these beautiful animals.
My favorite part of this book is when Percy’s dad writes a letter to him and the author says “Just two simple words printed right in the middle of the page, Brace Yourself.”
My least favorite part I when they almost lose Tyson in the ship explosion.

Rick. Titans Curse. New York: Hyperion for Children, 2005.

Genre: This book is a fantasy fiction because there is monsters and other kind of creatures.

This book is a story about a boy who goes off to this creepy school with his new friend(Thalia) and Annebeth then they meet Grover there he tells them all about how Chiron sent a whole of satyrs around the country including him and he tells them how he found two more demigods and he suspects that his teacher that he is a monster trying to kill the two demigods. When I stopped reading Percy and Annabeth were dancing so they could blend in with the other kids. Well that’s all I’ve read so far , I’ll see you later!!!

My favorite part so far is when Percy gets dropped off and his mom kept embarrassing him

I also liked the part when the author added a little humor in it to for example when his mom kept embarrassing him he said “I just hope she doesn’t tell them how cute I looked in the bathtub when I was Three.
