Logan R.

Hi, my name is Logan. My favorite types of books are books with cars and different kinds of vehicles. Also I like adventure books. Another kind is books with dirt bikes and monster trucks in them. So non fiction and sometimes fiction are my favorite type of book.

My favorite book of all is The Dirt Bike Racer. Its favorite my because its really good and is about dirt bikes. Also, because dirt bike racing is my favorite sport.
Last, it’s also my favorite because I like books with adventures.

My goals as a reader are to read a little faster. Also read bigger words. I would like to read bigger books and even have more time to read to. My last goal as a reader is to read harder books.

Wow Logan! I can really tell that you are a huge lover of dirt bikes,I like dirt bikes but not as much as you show your feelings on your description. I like the way that you show your feelings and described how you like dirt bikes, and the books that you read. Reading all of those dirt bike books can really help you and maybe if you can, you can become a dirt bike expert. Keep going for your goals!

Hi its hadei I just want to say how awesome you described the book I said awesome because of when you used evidence from the book in the summary. And yeah I think your right you did give a little too much away. But that’s ok because it sometimes gets people more into the book.

Smith,Roland. Cryptid Hunters. New York: hyperionbooksforchildren,2005.
Genre: Realistic fiction
This is a realistic fiction because many of the things that go on in the book could
Really happen. But its fiction because there’s a creature that is not real called a cryptid.
This story is about two thirteen year old kids named Grace and Marty. There parents die
In a helicopter crash and they move to live with there uncle Wolf. Wolf lives on Cryptos
Island. Marty finds self being chased by what he thinks is bigfoot. But it turns out that
It was really a orangutan. That was chasing him because he thought Marty was playing with the
Dolphins and was jealous. The two twins have been sent back to boarding school for a while so
Wolf can go search some more for there parents.

Comments: I truly love this book because of its action and dangerous things. Its one of the best books I’ve ever read. I really like the part when Marty jumped in the lake and thought dolphins were sharks.

Smith, Roland. Cryptid Hunters. New York: hyperion books for children,2005.
Genre: Fantasy
This story is fantasy because it has mythical beings in it.
Summary: This is a story about a boy named Marty and a girl named Grace.
In the story the two twins parents die in a helicopter crash. Now there being sent to live with there
Uncle on Cryptos island. They must survive wild things. I’m going to stop here so I wont spoil
Any thing.

Something I love about the book is the wording and detail. Something I didn’t like was
The part where the two twins fell out the plane because you cant tell they fell out until
It talks about them when they land and where they landed.

Logan-Cryptid Hunters is a great book! Keep on reading that book! I finished it in about two or three days. Did you know there is going to be a sequel? I can't wait, although it comes out in 2009. I'm currently reading First Boy, which is a Mark Twain award nominee. It's really interesting! Cooper has noticed some strange happening around his farm. His Big Barn was set on fire, and some "Very Big Men" broke in to his house, looking for his birth certificate. I have no idea why they where looking for his birth certificate but that was one of those strange happenings. So far, this book is good!-Brittany HOF'07

Smith,roland. Peak. Florida: scholastic, 2007
Genre: realistic fiction
I think this is a realistic fiction because it could really happen but this is not a true story.
Summary: at the beginning of this book peak climbed up a sky scraper but caught.
The police said that peak would go to JDC. But peaks dad stood up and took peak with him.
Then his dad wanted peak to be the youngest kid ever too climb everest. O.K im going stop so I don’t ruin the story.
The thing I liked in this book is the wording and action.
I didn’t like where peak at the beginning said he would leave his mark but the wording was a little confusing there.

Christopher, Matt. Dirt bike racer. Canada: little brown company ,1979.
Genre: the genre is realistic fiction because in the story it all could happened.
Summary : Ron baker finds a dirt bike down in the bottom of a lake when him and his friend was swimming. They pulled it out of the lake but Rons dad sais he can’t keep it unless nobody claims it .
Nobody said it was theirs so Ron kept it. Ron kept doing work off Mr. Perkins too get money to pay off the parts but later on he doesn’t have much luck in the races. I love this book because it’s about dirt bikes and because it’s funny. Because in one part Ron said “ If I was 5 years older I would give Mark a punch right in the kisser.” And I thought that was funny. Also it was mean when Glen Garner crashed Ron. But after that Ron cussed out Glen. In the end finally Ron beat Glen garner and Rons parents were really happy so was Ollie Rons friend.

Logan- Do you like Peak? I thought the book was o.k., although it there's a chance that it just wasn't my type of book. The book that I'm reading right now is Gentle's Holler. It's a sad story about living in a poor family. Livy Two lives in a poor family, and there are a ton of kids. One of her younger sisters, Gentle, can't see. The family is really worried about Gentle. This is a sad book. Well, enjoy Peak!-Brittany HOF'07

Genre: I think the genre is realistic fiction because every thing in the story could happen.
Summary: Ron baker finds a dirt bike buried in the bottom of a lake. Him and his friend pull it up to the top to check it out. They try to figure out whose it is but no one claimed it. So Ron started to work for Mr . Perkins to get money but in the future Ron finds him self battling in races but his luck runs out.
The part I liked in the story was where Ron got mad at the guy who crashed him and cussed him out.
Also I liked win Mr. Perkins would ask Ron to do something he would say” Yah I will”.

Sachar, Louis. Holes. Canada: Fiolomena tuosto, 1998.
Genre: realistic fiction.
I think this book is realistic fiction because all the things in this book could happen. For example there could be a camp that is for boys that do bad things.
Summary: Stanley is a older boy who was mistaken that he stole a pair of shoes from a homeless center for kids. But then after that he ended up in a camp called camp Green Lake. This is a horrible camp for Stanley but you must find out the rest.
Comments. I really liked the part where Stanley thought that he was just going to a little kids camp like when he said “ They’ll probably have toys and jumping rope there.
Also I liked where he was making fun of his great great grandfather.

Genre: I think the genre is realistic fiction because all this stuff in the book could really happen.
Summary: Brian Robbinsan Parents had gotten a divorce and Brian was then sent on a trip on a plane.
But bad things happen brains plane crashes and Brian gets stranded on a island. But I’m not going to say any more.
Comments: I liked the part where Brian gets on the plane and he sais ‘’ The whole time I’ve been on this plane the pilots only said two words to me.”
Also I liked when he said “ This plane is so loud you cant even have a conversation.
