Kaide K.

Hi my name is Kaide, I like to read. Some of favorite types of books are Goosebumps and comic books. I also like the Mark Twain books to and a lot of other books to. I also like to read fiction and non-fiction and maybe even biographies. I also like Harry Potter books especially the deathly hallows.

My favorite book of all time is yu-gi-oh duelist graphic novels volume 13 by Kazuki Takahashi. That’s my favorite book because Yugi faces Marik, well sort of. Also because it shows Slifer the sky dragon, which is my favorite god card. This is also my favorite book because it is awesome!

My goal this year is to read all of Kazuki Takahshi’s books. Also to read all 20 Mark Twain books and read all the Goosebumps books and maybe all the Harry Potter books. I’ll try my BEST!

Feinstein,John.Last Shot.New York:Yearling 2005.

This realistic fiction book is about a boy named Stevie who won a ticket to a final four game and he can win another final four ticket for his dad. All he has to do is write a letter to the boss of the headquarters. Guess what he wins the ticket to the game. He and his dad are going to New Orleans. But when he gets there he finds out he isn’t the only one there, someone else is there that won a ticket and her name is Susan Carol. She had wrote a better letter than Stevie. Boy he was surprised that moment. Read this book to find out what happens in this story.
I liked how they surprise you when they say”someone else is there that won a ticket”.
I didn’t like the part when he had to write the letter to win the ticket.

Smith, Roland. Peak. New York: Scholastic, 2007
Genre: realistical fiction
Hi, I just got done reading Peak, it’s really good. Peak has fifteen more handholds. Then he has topped it. His right ear and cheek were frozen to the wall. He gathered enough resolve to tear it loose. Then he had blood running down his face. He thought that he didn’t have enough energy to go on. Then a big helicopter came up behind him and nearly blew him off the wall. Then out of the shadows came a loud yell “you are under arrest”. It gets a lot better after that. You should read this book to find out.

Paulson, Gary. Hatchet. New York:Scholastic,1999
Genre: realistical fiction
Hi, I just got finished reading Hatchet, it’s really good it’s about a boy named Brian is going to go see his father but the polite gets a heart attack and the plane crashes in the jungle. Brian gets out of the plane as fast as he can. The only thing he had was a hatchet from his mom for a present, your probably thinking why would his mom give him a hatchet, and what is a hatchet. It’s kind of like an axe. That’s the only thing he has is an axe and with all the monsters and animals that are in the jungle he might not survive. Will Brian survive or not? You’ll have to read it to find out.

Hey Kaide. I've read a book called Star Wars Secrets of a Jedi and it is amazing. I said it's amazing because the author puts alot of detail in it. This book is about the first movie. The book is better than the movie because there's more detail than the movie. So I think you should read it. Put a comment on mine for more information.

Dicamillo,Kate. The Tale of Despereaux. Massachusetts: Candlewick Press, 2003.

Genre: fantasy

One day in a small mouse hole a mouse named Despereaux was born, but it wasn’t a normal mouse his eyes were born open. The other mice’s eyes were born closed always. But one day Despereaux went with his brothers and he heard music. Despereaux went to see what it was making that noise. It was a girl and her grandpa playing the piano. The girl saw the mouse and picked it up. The mouse looked like it loved the girl and he did. Then he ran away back into the mouse hole and said “I honor you princess Pea” and mice aren’t aloud to speak to humans or else. Then after that they had a mouse council about what should be his punishment so they gave him some thread and a threading needle and tied the thread to him and put the threading needle in the knot so if he gets in trouble he can save himself. The punishment was a quest to…..
My favorite part was when Despereaux had to go the quest. I liked that part because I love quests and journeys and after that part I love when he gets the thread tied to him and the threading needle stuck into the knot. I also liked that part because if he gets in trouble he can just take out his threading needle.
I also liked the part where Despereaux said “I honor you princess Pea.”I liked that part because he’s saying that as if he really does honor her and protect her if she is ever in needs of his assistants. I also liked that part because the girl doesn’t know that Despereaux is going on a quest so Despereaux can’t be of assistants to her.

Riordan, Rick. The Titan’s Curse. New York: Hyperion Books, 2007.

Genre: fantasy

This book is the third book to the Lightning Thief. This awesome book is about Percy Jackson when the Titan Lord Kronos is trying to kill Percy and his friend Percy is hopping that the demigod allies comes to the rescue. But it’s too late for Percy because the Titan Lord had just arrived to set up his evil plan. Then in the middle of nowhere Percy withdrawals a bronze sword and kills the Titan Lord. But there’s one thing that Percy didn’t expect…..the prophecy of the Titan’s curse!

My favorite part was when Percy has to battle the Titan Lord. I like that because Percy had withdrawal the “bronze sword from the ground and killed the Titan Lord Kronos”.

I didn’t like the part where “the titan lord blasts the demigod to bits”. I didn’t like that part because then Percy doesn’t have any help except for Riptide.

London, Jack. White Fang. New York: Scholastic, 2001.

Genre: realistic fiction

Hi I’m Kaide and I’m here to talk about the book White Fang. White Fang is part dog, part wolf and he was one of the tiny cubs to survive. Soon he figures out the North’s law-kill or be killed. But then this cruel person buys White Fang and turns him into a vicious killer a pit dog forced to fight for money. It’s his first battle and he has no idea what to do, so Cherokee (the dog he’s fighting) bites him on the neck. Then white Fang finally got him off and rolled on him and bite him on the neck. Then White Fang didn’t let go of his neck until he got his revenge or until he died. So you’ll have to find out if White Fang can survive or die of fighting.

My favorite part was when white fang came back and bite Cherokee’s neck. I like that part because it kind of reminds me of my friends and me when we fight, but not like them.

I didn’t like the part where the person bought white fang just to make him fight for money. I didn’t like that part because he’s like taking him from his home and pretty much making him suffer and die.

Higson, Charlie. Silverfin. New York: Miramax books, 2005.

Genre: realistic fiction

His name is Bond, James Bond. Hi I’m Kaide and I’m reading the book called Silverfin, it’s a James Bond adventure and I love adventures especially James Bond adventures. This book is about bond when he younger than he is now. James is trying to stop the Silverfin from killing all the people in the Scottish castle, but the good thing is that they only live in water. But they are great jumpers. But there’s more bad news the Silverfin somehow getting in all the lakes, so that’s really bad news for fishers that are in the boats or canoes. Will James stop these creatures or will he die…..you’ll have to read to find out.

My favorite part of this book was when James asks “what are Silverfin?” the costumer replied “they are see through fish that will kill you if you get to close to them you must stop them.” You’re right I’m Bonds James Bond.”

My least favorite part was when James was at home for about a quarter of the book. I didn’t like that part because there is no action or adventure in that part of the book.

Diterlizzi, Tony. Spiderwick chronicles the wrath of mulgarath. New York: Simon and Schuster, 2004.

Genre: realistic fiction

This book is about three kids that discover a whole new world with ogres, fairies, and other wild creatures. But then they discover that not all creatures are good, like Mulgarath the most feared creature in the world, he’s an ogre. Well it all starts with their mom getting captured by Mulgarath, so they go on a quest to find her. But they end up getting captured by Mulgarath’s goblins, but that is good because that’s where their mom is at. So they go through a lot of weird stuff but... Mulgarath!! You’ll have to read the five books to find out and when you read the wrath of Mulgarath, the fifth book, you’ll be so excited and freaked out. So read these books to find out.

My favorite part of this book is where Simon and Mallory are trapped by Mulgarath and Jared has a sword trying to get Mulgarath. The only reason they are trapped is because they thought that “a goblin looks like Richard Grace” but it’s not.

I didn’t like the part where at the beginning because is all it pretty much is, is people talking about if they know where their mom is. It also talks about where the field guide is, the book that stated the whole new world and brought this darkness.

DuPrau, Jeanne. The People of Sparks. New York: Kirkus Reviews, 2004.

Genre: realistic fiction

Have you ever heard of the city of ember, well if you haven’t you need to read it first because this is the sequel. So here it is! It all starts when they find out that a spirit is going to kill the people of Ember, Sparks, and Yonwood. The cities don’t know about each other until they meet. Then a boy of the People of Sparks see’s people coming toward them, they don’t barley have other people at the city, and there is a lot of people. But it ends up being the City of Ember, but they didn’t know that so they started running from them. It gets much, much, much better, so if you want to find out what happens next you better read The People of Sparks!!

My favorite part was the chapter called Weapon and they say “some of them had wrenched the towel racks from their bathroom walls and others grabbed rocks or branches to use as weapons.”

The part I didn’t like was the beginning were it was just talking about how they got there and the first book the City of Ember.

Clements, Andrew. Things Not Seen. New York: Philomel Books, 2002.

Genre: fantasy

This book is about when one morning when Bobby woke up and looked in the mirror and he WASN’T there. He was thinking that he was invisible, then he rubbed his eyes. He and his parents and his new blind friend, Alicia, try to find out what caused his condition and how to reverse it… or can you. You should read the book your self to find out what’s going to happen next.

My favorite part of this book is where “Bobby wakes and looks in the mirror and he’s not there!”

Another favorite part of mine is when “Bobby every morning wakes up and does everything in the dark even the shower.”
