Jake R.

Hi my name is Jake and my favorite book to read is nonfiction. I don’t like fiction because I rather sit and read some thing like a fairy tail then read about some animal I rather read Harry Potter or something .

My favorite thing to read is Spy Cat by Peg Kehret and The Stranger Next Door by Peg Kehert spy cat and stranger next door was really good I’m not quite done with both of them but I think you should get up and start looking for them.

My goals this year are to be able to find a lot of peg kehret books and read them. Because they are pretty good maybe you should to.

By Roland Smith Elephant Run New York 2007 hyperion books for children.
My favorite books I like to read are like nonfiction, fanasty and fiction and like books that can take you straight out of your seat what kind of books do you like. I kind of like nonfiction and a little scary books but this book I am about to tell you about is going to knock your socks off.
Roland Smith can make good books but his new one he made is just great it is called elephant run and it is about a kid and his dad was hiding because they were during a war and some of the people there didn’t like him even the army so there only house they had. Well that night they started droping bombs and about four or five hit there house and it cought on fire so they got out and the boy and his dad ran away in the morning.
My goal this year is to read all the magic tree house books and the Roland Smith books because they are exciting and fun books so what are you reading right now I just finished the book elephant run you should get out there and start reading.

I have never read Elephant Run before. I might try it. I like the part in your summary when you said the dad and the sun had to run away because their house got bombed in a big war.

Osborn, Mary Dragon of the red dawn new York random house 2007.
Fantasy fiction is the kind of books I like the book I am reading now I kind of like mystery books kind of not a whole lot though but I love adventure books like magic tree house it is like a ride you never know what could happen. I am not the one who really likes the nonfiction.
Hi this is Jake and I am going to tell you about the book I am reading it is called dragon of the red dawn if you read magic tree house books then you might have read the other Japan book it ties in with this one Jack and Annie have to go to Japan and discover one of the four secrets of happiness and go give them to Merlin.
My favorite part was when “there were samurais and then they used there magic wand and got away and then they ended up to were they needed to be”.

Smith, Roland. Sea otter rescue. New York: penguin group ,1990,1999
Genre: realistic nonfiction

Hi my name is Jake. My favorite type of genre is fantasy fiction, realistic nonfiction, and maybe a little bit of mystery and one of those genres is the book I am reading. Called sea otter rescue it is realistic nonfiction and I am going to tell you a little bit about it to you.

This book is about a oil spill that got some sea otters in to trouble. The person who made this book really helped out and the book is about some sea otters and they get oil on them and the sea otter rescue team tries to get some of the oil off but is just barely working and then they take a few things of blood out of them and they start blowing air on them with air tubes and then they washed them with some more water blew the air on the sea otters and almost all of it came off then they put them back in the water and they were free. Probably my favorite part of the book was when they were blowing the air on the sea otters because they kept moving around and they made this funny noise” like sissssss “ it’s my favorite part because that’s like my little brother yelling at me.
My three goals of the year are1: to read as much roland smith books as can and 2:to read as much tree house books as I can last but not least3: to try to see if any new Roland smith books come out and if they do I want to read them those are my three goals.

Hagerman , Paul. It’s a mad world. New York: sterling publishing by :Jake
Genre: fantasy fiction this book is fantasy fiction because it has animals talking.
It’s a mad world is about a book that is people making movies and bank robberies and stuff like that. And the producer wants to make a lot of money but he can’t because every time he does he has to pay his house rent and people rob him a lot. so he try’s to figure out how to keep that from happening. so he buys an alarm so if any one try’s to rob him as fast as the cops can go get to the producer’s house but it doesn’t work so he just stays poor.

My favorite part was when he got robed and it was people who no karate and the guy said “hi ya that is my money he ya” because when I was a little kid I took karate.

Jake- I've been wanting to read Sea Otter Rescue. The sea otters are so cute, don't you think? Somehow, they remind me of my cat, cuddled up. Anyway, have you read First Boy? It's a good Mark Twain nominee book. It's about a kid named Cooper who "lost his parents in a car accident." At least, that's what his grandparents told him. This book is really interesting! How's your book?-Brittany

Clements, Andrew. A week in the woods. New York Simon and Schuster
Genre: realistic fiction
A week in the woods is about mark his dad and his friend going into the woods to camp and have fun well didn’t turn out that fun for them. When they were there it was dark and they are ready had fire wood so they started a fire so they could see. They put up the tent and they blew out the fire then went to bed well in the morning there food was gone so they went out to catch some fish (and they had no fishing poles) and they caught a few and they cooked them and then they ate and then went out in to the woods to have some fun. Well that is far I am into it so bye.

One thing I loved about this book is that the a bear tried to steal there fish when they were catching the fish.
And a other thing I loved is that the bear stole there food.

D’lacey, Chris. Icefire. New York: orchard books, 2003.
Genre: fantasy fiction

Hi my name is Jake and I told you about a book well I read the sequel to and it is awesome so sit back and relax while I tell you the story about Icefire. This book was all about dragons and this man named David well I thought haw a star fell out of the sky and that is were it all started he thought he did but when he found it. It wasn’t it was a dragon so he raised it him self but in the sequel it happened again but the one he raised was fire the one that fell out of the sky in the sequel well it was ice then they started to fight and finally some the ice dragon froze him and then the fire dragon was going over to unfreeze him then the ice dragon came over and knocked him over then he got real angry and blew his fire and it melted the ice dragon a little. Well that well be all I tell you about this story if you want to read this then go to the library and check it out.

What my favorite part about this book was when the 2 dragons hit them self and they flew back.
What my other favorite part was when the dragon with the fire started to melt the ice dragon.

D’ lacey, Chris. Fire star. New York: scholastic, 2005
Genre: fantasy fiction
Wait hold on back to when dragons were here. It is time for dragons to rise again that is what a man said once to me but I didn’t believe him because I know they won’t rise again but that is what happened in this book. A guy named David is going to the arctic because he is a researcher but he finds it is way to cold so he starts to start his legend book with bear’s dragons and the mysterious fire star. Soon he realizes that it is begging to be come real and an old enemy is on her way to meet David. Can David stop her evil plan? Or will our world be destroyed.

My favorite part about this book was that it told me that he is a researcher and that he is starting a book.
My other favorite part was when he actually thought there really was a fire star but really it is really a dragon.

Fire Star sounds like I something I might want to read.. adventure, dragons, and even just the name gives me chills down my spine... It sounds like a good book. Have you ever heard of The Sea Of Monsters? I just finished it. It's the 2nd book, right after Lightin' Theif. It's about a boy named Percy who travels to the Sea of Monsters.. Looking for the Golden Fleec - Most people have read it, but it's still a good read!
